In honor of Reverend Bayard Hancock's decades of unselfish service to the needy in our communities, we have renamed our Emergency Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) to the Hancock Fund.
The mission of the Hancock Fund, of the Campton Area Resource Center (CARC), is to assist residents of Campton, Thornton, Ellsworth and Waterville Valley when they are in financial need.
Assistance is offered in areas including, but not limited to, rent, heat, utilities and transportation. An individual may apply for assistance every three months if necessary, but no more than four times within a twelve month period.
Organization of the Hancock Fund:
All assistance is kept strictly confidential, and only the Coordinator of the Hancock Fund and the Hancock Fund Treasurer know the identify of those who are helped. An individual or family seeking assistance must complete an application, and requests for assistance are then evaluated, with those that are the most urgent receiving assistance first.
Assistance is awarded by check, made out to the landlord, utility company or appropriate vendor, never to the applicant.
Applications for Assistance are available at the CARC Thrift Shop. For more information, please call 603-236-6232.
Donations earmarked for the Hancock Fund are gratefully accepted. During the fall and winter months, the needs of our neighbors increase greatly. Even small donations allow us to help more people in need.
